Cold - So you stay healthy

Healthy diet, adequate drinking, exercise in the fresh air and the immune system

With wetness, humidity and cold, winter does not always show its best side. Of course, cold and cough are more common during this time than in summer.

We from e-bikes4you.com have collected some tips from experts for you to avoid colds and, if you have caught a cold, to recover quickly:

  • A lot of drinking, exercise and a balanced diet are the best protection against cold. Drinking helps eliminate the toxins that have accumulated in our body through our everyday lives. Water or tea are the best sources of enough fluids during the day.
  • Exercise in the fresh air gives our body the ability to harden and absorb vitamin D through sunlight. Vitamin D is one of the best ways to strengthen the immune system and prevent the classic winter depression.
  • In addition, a healthy and above all balanced diet should not be neglected, as we absorb all the important vitamins and minerals that support our body during strenuous times.
  • Vitamin C? It does not hurt. Vitamin C is important for our immune system, and together with ginger, turmeric (which has anti-inflammatory effects) and zinc tablets, the immune system can be strengthened. Colds have less chance of attacking the body and paralyzing us.
  • Vegetables that grow in winter have a better effect than vitamin tablets. Vitamins, which are absorbed by a balanced diet, are often better absorbed in the body than vitamins in tablet form. Vegetables that are available in winter are often particularly effective here: white and red cabbage, savoy cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli. These vegetables are real vitamin C bombs and cheap in Central Europe in winter.
  • Not doing sports is not always the solution! Light exercise is important depending on the constitution, even if you have a cold: for example, light jogging can help on a stuffy nose. Of course, it is important not to overdo and feel the needs of the body and avoid sports in case of fever. Athletes should possibly avoid symptom-reducing medications, as the risk of health effects can increase.
  • Cold showers and sauna make the immune system stronger. Thumbs up for the classical cold, warm, cold shower and regular sauna sessions, which stimulate the immune system and thus reduce the risk of infection.
  • And last but not least, you should not forget washing your hands. Of course, for people who are often in contact with other people, frequent hand washing also helps to reduce the risk of infection.
